What is electrostatic painting?
Electrostatic paint is a type of powder coating that is made up of a uniform mixture of solid particles of minerals, pigments, and resins. Its ability to adhere to the parts to be painted is based on the principle of static electricity, resulting in a homogeneous, highly durable and resistant finish with an exceptional quality hermetic seal.
The application of powder coating is carried out by a specialized machine that combines paint particles with air and charges them electrically during the process. These particles are attracted to the surface to be painted, which is connected to the ground, and are kept attached thanks to the static charge generated.
Subsequently, the paint-coated parts are subjected to a curing process at a temperature of 190 degrees Celsius, which completes the procedure. A relevant aspect of this technique is that it does not require the use of any type of solvent, which makes it an environmentally friendly option.
